Through United Policyholders' Roadmap to Recovery program, we are distributing tools and tips and providing a voice for people whose property has been damaged or destroyed by Superstorm Sandy and need help navigating the insurance challenges that lie ahead.
These challenges can include confusion over deductibles, repair methods and costs, rotating/inexperienced adjusters, scams, flood, water and mold damage exclusions/caps and the "anti-concurrent causation" clause that has deprived hundreds of thousands of consumers of insurance benefits they reasonably expected would protect them after a disaster.
