“United Policyholders organization should be the first line of information to all fire victims. They are positive people who are earnestly trying to help others through a difficult time. They can provide professional people and lay people to answer most any question a fire victim could have.”
A central part of United Policyholders' mission is to educate and
unite insureds with current information on insurance issues. Consistent
with that mission, United Policyholders serves as a clearinghouse for
documents relating to disability insurance policies. UP launched this
service after being swamped with requests for information by disabled
policyholders and their advocates. ISP documents are available to policyholders, policyholder advocates and employees of governmental agencies only.
These documents are relevant to the majority of disability
policyholders in the United States because most people who buy
disability insurance are insured by one company comprised of former
merged competitors UNUM, Provident Accident and Life, and Paul Revere.
The documents indicate a business strategy to boost profits by unfairly
denying disability claims. Many thousands of disabled insureds
throughout the United States appear to have been the victims of this
