Assistance centers opening for Park Fire victims

Tehama County, in conjunction with local, state, and federal agencies and non-governmental organizations, will host a local assistance center for individuals, families and businesses affected by the Park Fire.

The event will be held inside the Red Bluff Community Center, 1500 S. Jackson St. According to the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office, the location will be open to people looking for additional resources and information on recovery from this terrible incident.

The LAC will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Aug.15-17.

The following is a sample of the agencies and groups who have signed up to assist the community in the recovery efforts: American Red Cross, Disability Action Center, Legal Services of Northern California, United Way of Northern California, The United Methodist Committee on Relief, Nation’s Finest, Tehama County Building Department, Tehama County Public Health, Tehama County Environmental Health, Baptist Disaster Relief, PG&E, Tehama County Social Services, Tehama County Clerk & Recorder, The Salvation Army, Northern Valley Catholic Social Services, Lions Disaster Response, United Policyholders, US Ag Dept, State OES and many more.

“If you or a loved one were affected by the Park Fire, please come by and gather some resources,” TCSO said.

The sheriff’s office and Cal Fire are inviting the community to an informative town hall meeting on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Tehama County Board Chambers, 727 Oak Street in Red Bluff, to discuss the Park Fire and recovery efforts.
