Example of Complete Household Inventory Spreadsheet

Here is a detailed inventory spreadsheet donated by a volunteer and survivor of the 2008 Freeway Complex Fire. This example may be useful for people to see what a complete inventory of their home, listing each item, and pricing looks like.

Please note: your insurance company may provide you with a template contents inventory spreadsheet that may be easier and more efficient for you to use than the following, particularly if it comes in a format that your adjuster is familiar with. Familiarize yourself with the contents inventory coverages and exclusions in your own  policy. For example, this sample spreadsheet labels the age of certain items as “antique” while some insurance policies exclude antique items.
