Household Inventory Sample spreadsheet

Here is a detailed inventory spreadsheet donated by a volunteer and survivor of the 2008 Freeway Complex Fire. This will be useful for people to start thinking about the complete contents of their home, listing each item, and offering a starting point for pricing.

Please note: your insurance company may provide you with a template contents inventory spreadsheet that may be easier and more efficient for you to use than the following, particularly if it comes in a format that your adjuster is familiar with. Before using the below sample spreadsheet, you should familiarize yourself with the contents inventory coverages and exclusions in your own  policy. For example, this sample spreadsheet labels the age of certain items as “antique” while some insurance policies exclude antique items.

You can download the complete spreadsheet for your own use.
