Attorneys and insurance officials will help Maui residents understand the insurance process after the recent fires during a forum from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
The Maui Wildfires Policyholder’s Forum will take place at Hula Grill Restaurant in Whalers Village Shopping Center at 2435 Kaanapali Parkway.
awaii attorneys Thomas Zizzi, Loren Tilley and Terry Revere will start the forum at 9 a.m., discussing certain insurance claim-handling methodologies, past Hawaii insurance bad-faith practices and pending or future litigation, according to a news release.
At 9:45 a.m., United Policyholders associates Cathy Crowley and Paul Amlin will explain how the nonprofit policyholder’s association can assist Maui policyholders with their own claims.
At 10:15 a.m., Robert Hugh Joslin, certified professional public adjuster and president of Hawaii Public Adjusters Corp., will explain the legislative authority, functions and roles of Hawaii public adjusters versus Mainland public adjusting entities.
Questions and answers will follow each session.
Seating is limited to the first 90 attendees; others will be allowed to stand.
