Anjali Maria Tierra Blasko asked 11 months ago Hi, Every year when I attempt to get the CA Fair Plan, the insurance company tells me i have to pay 40/40/20…basically the whole amount in 3 months in large lump sums.
I was told that they have to offer a 12 month installment plan. Is this true? If yes, What am I supposed to do or tell the agent?

Effective February 1, 2020, California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara ordered the California Fair Plan to accept payments in monthly installments (see https://www.insurance.ca.gov/0400-news/0100-press-releases/2019/upload/nr089FAIRPlanOrder111419.pdf). If your insurance company is not complying, you can file a complaint with the Department of Insurance.
