Our main house survived the Eaton fire and was well covered with 100% extended dwelling coverage BUT we had extensive damage on other dwellings – Schedule B – with total loss of garage, pool building, pool and backyard equipment and we are underinsured there to rebuild what we had. Our insurance company says extended dwelling is of no use even though it’s an emergency declaration because it only covers Schedule A. Do we have any defense here? Any suggestions on how we can maximize our limited rebuild payout (which they have already sent us) even though it probably only covers 50% of what we need to rebuild Schedule B assets?
