How do we find out the person above the adjuster and on up? All e-mails are signed by the adjuster. I have no clue where to start.
Hi Terry,
I would recommend that you contact your insurance claim department’s 800# instead of the extension or direct contact # your adjuster provided. You may need to triage through the automated system but when you do reach a live person, request to speak to your adjuster’s supervisor and make sure to get the contact information (including direct line and last name, if possible). Be firm but polite to the customer service representative or other adjusters you may speak to when requesting supervisory information. Explain your situation (not receiving return calls, follow up documentation, etc). You may need to make several calls/week to the supervisor or 800# until to secure this information and/or have ‘forward progress’ on your claim. Keep a written log of this information. You can also request a response, in writing, from your adjuster to speak with their supervisor.
And if nothing else works, consider filing a complaint with the Department of Insurance. Here’s the link to the DOI website: https://www.insurance.ca.gov/01-consumers/101-help/
