I live in a FireWise designated community and am insured through the California FairPlan. The California FairPlan policy states that those living in a FireWise community will receive a discount. A FairPlan representative states that I am receiving a FireWise discount, even though my policy does not reflect this. After many attempts, no one at the FairPlan has been able to provide the dollar amount of my FireWise discount. Can you help?

I can see how that is frustrating. The California FAIR Plan has a new computer system and environment that appears to be a bit less user friendly than I’d like to see. If you are being told that the discount is in fact incorporated, chances are good it is even if a specific line item does not show it. I would suggest you contact the FAIR Plan in writing and request a reply in writing in order to ensure you have proof and accountability of the issue.
