Annie Barbour is a 2017 Tubbs Fire Survivor and a founding Board member of the wildfire recovery group, Coffey Strong. She helped her wildfire-impacted neighbors organize and support each other’s recovery through a Block Captain system, and was integral to the model they created of effective community-supported rebuilding. She volunteered with United Policyholders to travel to disaster-impacted regions and share insights and information, then joined our staff and quickly became invaluable to our Roadmap to Recovery programs and services. She is part of our Roadmap to Recovery outreach and education team, has been our liaison to countless wildfire-impacted communities throughout California, Colorado and on Maui, Hawaii, and leads our Survivor to Survivor forums. Annie is helping advance wildfire risk reduction in WUI/rural areas across California through our WRAP initiative and Roadmap to Preparedness program, Annie Barbour is an outstanding asset to United Policyholders and the disaster survivors, homeowners and renters we serve.
