Benjamin LaTurno serves as a Program Coordinator at United Policyholders, collaborating with community organizations across the country for UP’s Roadmap to Recovery and Roadmap to Preparedness’ Wildfire Risk Reduction and Asset Protection Initiative.

Growing up in Saint Louis, Missouri, Ben was no stranger to severe weather, and disaster preparedness.  As an undergraduate meteorology student, he saw that the next step in the weather and disaster world was not in more technology, but rather in educating the public on disaster preparedness and resiliency. A previous Americorp VISTA, he collaborated with stakeholders ranging from community non-profits to state and federal groups to create meaningful outcomes for people impacted by disasters. With this experience, Ben seeks to bridge the knowledge gap between disaster professionals and American families to be better prepared for all hazards.
