Do you have to hire an Xactimate company

Do you have to hire an Xactimate company that breaks down the costs the exact same way as the insurance company to give you an amount to rebuild your home or can you submit what your general contractor estimates the rebuild to cost

Not typically, unless your policy language requires it. It does make it easier to compare ‘apples to apples’ but it’s not necessary.
