Ordinance and Law check list question

I lost it all in the Palisades Fire. House was built in 1947. Is there a checklist, template, or other guideline about what new construction elements would or could qualify as “Ordinance or Law” elements? Specifically, a checklist, etc. for a home originally built in 1947 in the City of Los Angeles, California.

You pose a great question that we wished we could provide a specific answer to. However, ordinance/code requirements vary considerably per house, area, and time/how a home was constructed. We would recommend that you work with your carrier, a reputable general contractor and your local building department to determine what ordinance related requirements your project will need. You can also elect to go through plan check with your building department, which typically will call out or document necessary code work for your plans.
