Rebuilding after Eaton Fire with EXRC

The home we lost in the Eaton Fire consisted of a two-story front house of approximately 2,700 sq. ft. and a rear unit of about 500 sq. ft., for a total of roughly 3,200 sq. ft. of living space.

The design-build firm we are currently working with is proposing a two-story front home of approximately 2,000 sq. ft. and an 800 sq. ft. ADU in the rear, for a total of about 2,800 sq. ft.

We have extended replacement cost coverage of 125%. In general, do we need to increase the size of the front home to achieve a comparable “like kind and quality” replacement, or will AAA pay the full extended replacement amount if we can demonstrate that the total cost of this proposed build falls within the extended replacement cost (ERC) limit?
