Defensible Space Fuel Reduction Program | The Diablo Firesafe Council has a Defensible Space Fuel Reduction Project Cost share, up to $5,000. Click here to download the application.

Alameda Safety & Accessibility Modification Program | Contact the City of Alameda Fire Department for information on their home fire safety modifications, construction, follow up visits, & more. These services are paid for by the city for residents above age 62 or disabled persons who meet certain criteria.

ESS (Earthquake Soft Story) Retrofit Grant | The California Residential Mitigation Program offers an ESS retrofit grant for homeowners whose house was built prior to 2000, and has a one-story living space over the garage, also known as “soft story.” A grant of up to $13,000 is available through the ESS program. |
Fire Safe Councils are community-led organizations that mobilize residents to protect their homes and communities from wildfire. |
