Wildfire Risk Reduction (Mitigation) Resources

View grants, community programs and information that can help you reduce the chances of a wildfire damaging or destroying your home. “Home hardening” means home improvements.  “Defensible space” means creating a plant and tree-free zone around your home.

Roadside and Neighborhood Chipping Program The Amador Resource Conservation District offers free roadside and neighborhood chipping program to help reduce wildfire fuels and create defensible space.

Amador RCD Forest Health Assistance This program includes a site visit from an Amador Resource Conservation District Natural Resource Specialist. They provide free technical assistance to review landowners’ forest health, fuels management goals, and potential financial assistance for meeting those goals.
