Wildfire Risk Reduction (Mitigation) Resources

View grants, community programs and information that can help you reduce the chances of a wildfire damaging or destroying your home. “Home hardening” means home improvements. “Defensible space” means creating a plant and tree-free zone around your home.

Woodsmoke Reduction Program This program offers incentives to replace uncertified wood-burning home heating devices with cleaner, safer electric ones to reduce fire risk and reduce toxic emissions. The incentive amount will depend on where the property is located and the Applicant’s household income, with some households qualifying for full replacement cost. Applicants who can demonstrate low-income eligibility based on household income will qualify for higher incentives.
