Refer back to the “Get Started” page for statewide California information on brush clearing and other requirements and risk reduction resources for improving your home’s chances of surviving a wildfire and increasing your and your community’s eligibility for insurance discounts and renewal rewards.
ReCoverCA Owner-Occupied Mitigation (OOM) Grant | Eligible Home Hardening & Mitigation Costs Include: • Debris clearance, demolition, landscaping, repairs, etc. that increase the level of protection from future wildfires and disasters. • Defensible Space and Home Hardening activities that increase resilience and reduce or eliminate long-term risks and impacts of future disasters. • Activities that assist in bringing a home and property up to code with Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) standards. ESS (Earthquake Soft Story) Retrofit Grant | The California Residential Mitigation Program offers an ESS retrofit grant for homeowners whose house was built prior to 2000, and has a one-story living space over the garage, also known as “soft story.” A grant of up to $13,000 is available through the ESS program. |
NPHS Resilience NOW Program | The NPHS (Neighborhood Partnership Housing Services) has two new wildfire retrofit programs available.
The Resilience Now Program provides up to $5,000 in loan financing for income-eligible homeowners who have received notifications from their homeowners insurance company that they must make necessary Wildfire Preparedness Retrofits to their homes. The program provides financing for homeowners to make the immediate repairs required by their homeowners insurance company. NPHS Resilience LOAN Program | The NPHS (Neighborhood Partnership Housing Services) has two new wildfire retrofit programs available.
The Resilience Loan Program offers up to $25,000 in loans to help Inland Valley homeowners of single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums, and manufactured homes on a permanent foundation complete comprehensive home repairs and enhance their home’s defense against wildfire threats For information about the application, contact Curtis Miller at Curtis@nphsinc.org or call (909) 988-5979. |
