Wildfire Risk Reduction (Mitigation) Resources

View grants, community programs and information that can help you reduce the chances of a wildfire damaging or destroying your home. “Home hardening” means home improvements.  “Defensible space” means creating a plant and tree-free zone around your home.

Mountain Communities FSC Grant-Funded Wildfire Preparedness Programs MCFSC has current grant funding to assist local property owners in the San Jacinto Mountains with defensible space, forest health and wildfire prevention projects.

NPHS Resilience NOW Program The NPHS (Neighborhood Partnership Housing Services) has two new wildfire retrofit programs available.

The Resilience Now Program provides up to $5,000 in loan financing for income-eligible homeowners who have received notifications from their homeowners insurance company that they must make necessary Wildfire Preparedness Retrofits to their homes. The program provides financing for homeowners to make the immediate repairs required by their homeowners insurance company.

NPHS Resilience LOAN Program The NPHS (Neighborhood Partnership Housing Services) has two new wildfire retrofit programs available.

The Resilience Loan Program offers up to $25,000 in loans to help Inland Valley homeowners of single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums, and manufactured homes on a permanent foundation complete comprehensive home repairs and enhance their home’s defense against wildfire threats
