Wildfire Risk Reduction (Mitigation) Resources

View grants, community programs and information that can help you reduce the chances of a wildfire damaging or destroying your home. “Home hardening” means home improvements.  “Defensible space” means creating a plant and tree-free zone around your home.

Woodside Home Assessments Woodside Fire Protection District offers a detailed free home assessment of residential properties in the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI). This program provides the basis of specific requirements and recommendations for the property owner to reduce their home ignition potential.

Los Trancos & Vista Verde Home Hardening and Defensible Fire Safety Incentive Program Apply for monetary reimbursements on approved home hardening and defensible space upgrades. Requires a home assessment visit (see above).
