Fire Hazard Reduction Program | The Fire Hazard Reduction Program (FHRP) is the cornerstone of the Ventura County Fire Department’s Wildland Fire Action Plan. Read about the program here. |

Residential Grant Program | The Ventura Fire Safe Council offers grant opportunities to assist Ventura Residents in need with defensible space clearance and home modifications and retrofits for wildfire safety improvements. |
Home Ignition Zone Assessments | The Ventura County Resource Conservation District offers free home walkthroughs, followed by a report with suggestions to best protect your home against wildfire.

Wildfire Risk and Asset Protection (WRAP) Information | The wildfires of 2017-2020 caused devastating property damage and loss of life, resulting in many property owners being unable to procure adequate or affordable property insurance. OVFSC is participating in a series of workshops exploring approaches to increase the availability and affordability of property insurance in California. Find out more here. |
Home Safety Survey | Participate in a survey to see how safe your home is from wildfire, and how to make it even safer. |
ESS (Earthquake Soft Story) Retrofit Grant | The California Residential Mitigation Program offers an ESS retrofit grant for homeowners whose house was built prior to 2000, and has a one-story living space over the garage, also known as “soft story.” A grant of up to $13,000 is available through the ESS program. |
