Alameda County has several mitigation programs offered through their fire safe councils and fire departments.
Alameda County’s urban western portion is under the jurisdiction of several municipal fire departments. The more rural eastern half of the county is largely
SRA
and the responsibility of CAL FIRE’s Santa Clara Unit. Mutual Aid agreements ensure cooperation and adequate resources responding to wildfires.
