Contra Costa County’s urban areas are under the jurisdiction of several municipal fire departments. The more rural portions of the county is largely

SRA

and the responsibility of CAL FIRE’s Santa Clara Unit. Mutual Aid agreements ensure cooperation and adequate resources responding to wildfires.
