Local Emergency Resources

Shasta County, outside of Redding, is largely a mix of

SRA
, protected by the Shasta-Trinity Unit of CAL FIRE, and
FRA
which is under the jurisdiction of the Shasta Trinity National Forest and the National Park Service.  “Checker board” land patterns of alternating federal and private ownership result in the trading of acres between CAL FIRE and the Forest Service under the CFMA to provide efficient wildfire response.
