Siskiyou County Write Up
Siskiyou County is largely a mix of
SRA
, protected by the Siskiyou Unit of CAL FIRE, and FRA
which is under the jurisdiction of the Klamath National Forest. “Checker board” land patterns of alternating federal and private ownership result in the trading of acres between CAL FIRE and the Forest Service under the CFMA to provide efficient wildfire response. Siskiyou County has over 50 independent fire departments with jurisdiction for areas of LRA
